Fatal Accident in Lower Macungie Township on Sunday Morning Resulted in Man's Death
A 60-year-old Allentown man died in a crash Sunday morning in Lower Macungie Township. Eric J. Cressman was pronounced dead just after 8 a.m., according to Lehigh County coroner Daniel Buglio. His cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries from a vehicle collision. Cressman was driving when his vehicle collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Brookside Road and Lower Macungie Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. State police are investigating.
Upper Macungie Supervisors Approve the Conditions Regarding the Route 100 Warehouse
A step forward has been taken toward the approval of a proposed warehouse along Route 100. The Upper Macungie Board of Supervisors voted 2-1 to establish a set of conditions for a warehouse slated at 110 PA Route 100, with Board Chairman Sunny Ghai casting the dissenting vote.
Initially met with opposition from township staff due to perceived inconsistencies with local land-use laws, the 150,000-square-foot warehouse project proposed by Prologis, an industrial real estate company, was challenged by the township. Prologis appealed this decision.
The Upper Macungie Zoning Hearing Board, functioning as an independent quasi-judicial entity, held two hearings on the appeal. During the October 11 meeting of the Upper Macungie Zoning Hearing Board, representatives from all parties indicated they were nearing a compromise.
An agreement was reached on a series of conditions for the project's approval, encompassing provisions for noise reduction, restrictions on truck trips, and enhancements to the shared driveway. Should the board grant approval, the project will undergo further scrutiny by the supervisors for plan approval in the land development process before commencing construction.

Emmaus Wins 3rd State Title in Four Years!!!!
Goalkeeper Emma Cari and the stout Emmaus defense set the stage for a potential championship victory, showcasing a game replete with crucial plays. Sophomore Addison Povilaitis sealed the deal for the Green Hornets with the lone goal in their 1-0 triumph over Manheim Township during the PIAA Class 3A championship game at Cumberland Valley’s Chapman Field on Saturday.
This win marks the program's 15th title and the third in four years for Emmaus, boasting an impressive track record of 229 victories and five state championships since the commencement of the 2015 season. However, amidst the celebratory atmosphere, the victory was underscored by poignant reminders of Cook, a senior-to-be who tragically lost her battle with leukemia in June.
Emmaus started off strong, securing the initial two penalty corners within the opening minutes. Yet, the District 3 champion, Manheim Township, gained momentum as the quarter progressed. At halftime, the game remained deadlocked with neither side finding the net, although the Blue Streaks (24-2-1) held a slight advantage in shots and corners.
The pivotal moment arrived in the sixth minute of the third quarter when Povilaitis, who had seen minimal game time prior, netted her first goal of the season, delivering the much-needed breakthrough for the Hornets. With only five minutes remaining, Manheim Township called for a timeout. Post that break, the Hornets dominated possession, mostly playing in Manheim's territory for the remainder of the game.
The Eagles Gear up to Take on the Chiefs in Super Bowl Rematch, Jalen Hurts Rejuvenated and Ready for Game
Following the Eagles' win against the Cowboys in Week 9, quarterback Jalen Hurts acknowledged his series of in-season injuries, noting that the timing of the bye week was favorable for his recovery.
Upon his comeback to the practice field, Hurts reaffirmed this viewpoint. The break was essential for numerous injured players, himself included, particularly as he had been managing a reported bone bruise injury in his right knee during preceding games.
Hurts confirmed that he has now dispensed with the soft knee brace that he had been wearing in the games leading up to the break.
